Syt Basant Kumar Birla is a colossus of the Indian industry and has created and led a conglomerate that encompasses diverse industries and varied social institutes that have touched the lives of millions of people. The youngest of the legendary Syt G.D Birla's sons, Syt B.K Birla initially took over the reins of Birla Jute and Kesoram Mills in 1936. That was just the beginning.

At a time when India was just beginning to set up its industries, Syt B.K Birla began steering the conglomerate on the path of innovation and progress. A devoted philanthropist and a great lover of art and culture, the Birla doyen has set up some of the most prestigious educational, cultural and social institutes such as Ashok Hall group of Schools, Birla Institute of Management Technology(BIMTECH), Birla Technical Training Institute, (Pilani),B.K Birla Institute of Engineering and Technology (Pilani) , Sangit Kala Mandir, Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Birla Kannan (Mangal Mahadev, Gurgaon), Mahadevi Birla Niketan (old age home), to name just a few.

Today, the group, spanning generations, and is conglomerate of various companies with multifarious activities, to name a few Century Textiles, Kesoram Industries, Mangalam Cement, Century Enka, Jay Shree Tea. It's been a worthwhile 75 plus years of excellence and innovation, growth and consolidation.
